PURPOSE:

For measurement in laboratory or field conditions grains size distribution of sprayed drops, that fall with sedimentation speed. 
The range of the measurement is 50 µm do 4 mm.

 

MEASURING PRINCIPLE:

The infrared or laser light beam is scattered by moving drops in the measuring zone. An electric impulse corresponds to each drop. The impulse is proportional to the drop size. 

The set of drops is initially measured with the division into 4096 channels and converted (calibrated) into 256 size classes, which are available to a user.

  

MEASURING PROCEDURE:

The AWK D analyser consist in measuring probe with photo-electronic converter [1]. The probe is connected with main electronic unit [3] through cable [2] that is 20 meter long.

Electric impulses, that are proportional to the drops’ diameter are formed in the main electronic unit. Than special A/D board converts electric impulses into digital one and sends them to computer by USB 2.0. port. The shape and amplitude of every impulse is analysed by the computer. 

The measuring results are saved in the computer [4] in electronic units and can be recalculate into physical units according to given characteristics (calibration). The results are display on monitor and whole control process is done by keyboard 

The measuring probe has three exchangeable inlets [5], that are used depending on drops concentration. The drops concentration depends on liquid flow intensity in atomizer and distance between examined atomizer and probe [1].

For exact examination of sprayed liquid stream there are designed special instruments and software that allow to control of atomizer [6] position to measuring probe (option)
